The job interview.
We all know first impression matters! You have about 10 seconds to make a good impression. You have to appear as Confident, Comfortable and Successful. Easier said than done, right? Well, if you follow a few rules it is not. Following the rules below will make you feel very confident and comfortable, which is very important, and shows when you attend a job interview.

You are sending a lot of signals and that’s why you have to plan your appearance.

• Look up the company on the Internet – look for photos on their website – what signals do they send. Look for Business wear, casual wear, young, fashionable, conservative, what are they trying to tell you? The Marketing people put time into this so they have an opinion, trust me!

• Plan out a wardrobe that fits the organization and its culture, striving for the most professional appearance you can accomplish. Remember that it’s always better to be overdressed than underdressed.

• Wear clothing that fits and is clean and pressed. Keep accessories and jewelry to a minimum.

• Think about what you want to ”tell” them using signals. Use your personality and make that shine through.

• If your business attire is distracting because it is too sexy, drab, or colorful, the employer may focus on how you look, not on your business skills. Aim to look refreshed and awake, without looking too done up. Treat yourself with respect.

• You can always bring some personality into you outfit with accessories. (But still keep it to a minimum)
Jewellery, watch, tie, shoes, briefcase – just think them through and always have in mind to match the company “face”
Hide tatoos and no piercings.

• Business Makeup Advice: Keep it simple and appropriate for daytime.
Wearing no makeup at all is almost as bad as wearing too much makeup. So wear a natural make up!

• Paying attention to the details of your appearance sends a message to others that you will also pay close attention to business details. Grooming is an allover thing an.

You probably think – I should be my self when doing an interview. True, but strive to be the very best of you. Looking and feeling confident gives you the opportunity to enjoy the process.

Is this really necessary?

YES! If you want success
YES! if you want to fit in
Yes! if you don’t want to blend in with the wall paper
